Modular Building Plan Review Request

The authority for the Office of the State Fire Marshal to review manufacturer’s construction plans of all modular buildings for compliance with Mississippi Fire Prevention Codes is granted under Section 75-49-9, Mississippi Code of 1972, Annotated. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is required to review all modular home construction plans that are submitted by any licensed modular building manufacturer. The fee for modular home plan review shall be Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00) per floor plan and the payment must be included with the submittal of the request form. An invoice for the receipt of the payment will be returned to the person requesting the review.

The items that are required to be on the drawings at the time of submittal is provided but are not limited to the following:

Drawings are of sufficient clarity	Structure Wind Speed Specified
Exposure Types Specified	All Flood Hazards are Referenced
Seismic Design Category Referenced	AC Smoke Detectors Indicated
Arc Fault Circuits Present	Ground Fault Circuits Present
Emergency Egress in Sleeping Rooms	Type of Roof Ventilation Indicated
Attic Access Area Indicated Clearly	Foundation Instructions Provided
Crawlspace Access Door Location	Crawlspace Access Door Present
Indicated on Drawing	and Properly Sized
