In addition, a company that writes a large amount of business in the state will have more inquiries and complaints than a company that writes a small amount of business.
In order to view closed complaint files, a consumer must contact Consumer Services in advance and supply the name of the company to allow time for the requested closed files to be pulled. Open complaint files are not available for public viewing, pursuant to the Mississippi Public Records Act of 1983 .
In order to receive information on closed complaint files, the consumer must submit a written statement requesting the information by specific company.
