Each year, the Mississippi Insurance Department
prepares a five-year strategic plan which is submitted to the Legislative Budget
Office and the Department of Finance and Administration Office of Budget and
Fund Management in compliance with the Mississippi Performance Budget and
Strategic Planning Act of 1994. The plan contains a comprehensive agency mission
statement; a narrative overview setting out the planned direction of the agency
for the next five years; performance effectiveness objectives for each
agency program; a description of significant external
factors which may affect the projected levels of performance; and a description
of the agency's internal management system used to evaluate its performance
achievements in relationship to targeted performance levels.
